Meet Doug & Michelle
We’re the Raddatz family. With 31 years of active duty under our belt, we have navigated countless relocations and assignments as a military family. Embracing the challenge of doing laundry in unconventional spaces became our routine. However, we were determined to ensure that laundry was never an inconvenience. This drove us to develop a solution that complemented our lifestyle.
Read on to learn more about our story.
How It Started
After facing the challenge of unstable floor drying racks taking up space, we decided to search for a folding wall-mounted dryer, but couldn't find one. Consequently, Doug took matters into his own hands and designed and crafted the prototype for this dryer. The initial versions were created in our new home in Fayetteville, NC. Following a neighbor's suggestion, Doug applied for and obtained patents in the US, EU, China, and Hong Kong.
The Name Zona Gail
Doug's mother, Zona Gail, named after the notable suffrage leader, was born in 1934 and lived through World War II, making her an early advocate for conservation practices – reduce, reuse, and recycle. She was the perfect inspiration for our dryer design.
Innovative by Nature
Growing up in Minnesota's North Woods, Doug was surrounded by abundant high-quality hardwoods, which instilled in him a passion for woodworking and furniture making from a young age. Inspired by his parents' industrious and innovative nature, Doug became a skilled tinkerer, continuously inventing solutions to simplify household tasks.
